COVID-19 Program Closure Update

Hello Families,

We hope you are all doing well in the midst of all of the change and uncertainty happening in our schools, and by extension our Love. Learn. Success. Expanded Learning Program at West County Mandarin School. We are getting new information each day about new restrictions, what that potentially means for the direction of our programs and where this leaves our hourly staff if we cannot continue to generate income.

We wanted to give you an update about potential services and payments given the current situation today. At this time, we’re going to continue to process payments based on the fee structure, depending on where you are in your payment schedule. Our hope is to continue to support our expanded learning staff during these difficult times. Program Instructors and Enrichment Specialist will be planning curriculum and activities in preparation for when we return.

IF YOU WISH TO CANCEL ANY FUTURE PAYMENTS, YOU MUST RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL TO NOTIFY US. IF WE DO NOT RECEIVE ANY NOTIFICATION, WE WILL PROCESS PAYMENTS AS SCHEDULED.

Moving forward, we would like to offer a few options to stay connected or part ways during this time of closures.

Option 1:
“Due to financial hardship/altered work schedule/COVID-19-related circumstances, I need to stop future payments.” We understand that the financial stability of many of our families may be impacted during this time in our community and understand if you need to disenroll your student. Please contact Yadira Rodriguez, yrodriguez@lovelearnsuccess.org, if you need to stop future payments. When/if school resumes and you would like to re-enroll your student at that time, we would love to have them back!

Option 2:
“My family would like to stay enrolled and my family can continue to pay our previously agreed-upon amount each month/quarter.” If you are a family who is in the position to continue paying your set installments, we will continue to debit your account as scheduled moving forward. We are grateful for your continued support to sustain a paycheck for your students’ teachers.

Option 3:
“I am able to donate beyond my previously agreed-upon amount each month/quarter.” If you are a family who is able to donate anything extra beyond your usual payments, we will graciously put those funds towards paying your hourly teachers.

As in our normal interactions with our families, we want to support what you do as parents and what the daytime teachers do in their classrooms with our own brand of distance/alternative enrichment classes during these closures. If you select Option 2 or Option 3, you will receive the following:

  • We are piloting Community Bridges Virtual Mini-Classes that will be available to our families who are able to stay enrolled during this time of school closures. These online classes are provided by Lead Instructors and Enrichment Specialists.
  • Additionally, you will receive priority enrollment for the 2020-2021 LLS school year program,
  • As well as receive a discount for the 2020-2021 LLS school year program

We are working with LLS Enrichment Specialists and Lead Teachers from the LLS Community Bridges After School Program at Melrose Leadership Academy and Urban Montessori Charter School to create Virtual Mini-Classes for you to watch with your students during the usual 3 o’clock to 6 o’clock hours (or whenever is convenient)! This may allow you to get dinner started, get a few emails sent off, engage with your kiddo doing something new, or just chill out on your own! We will be sending these links to participating families that will be password-protected to view and rotate new Virtual Mini-Classes if we are able to get enough families to continue their financial participation to support the teachers in doing so.
